Keep Phoenix Beautiful: Earth Day

BPFK I Heart Earth Stickers
We had a blast spending Earth Day with our good friends at Bashas’. We created a custom sticker design of their super cool 1941 vintage truck to hand out along with yummy snacks from their natural and organic department.

Moo + Zoo = Earth Day Fun

Earth Day at Phx Zoo

We created a custom mini cow sticker for Dairy Council of Arizona repurposing 1000 half pint Shamrock Farms milk cartons (school size). The craft activity took place at the Phoenix Zoo during their Earth Day event presented by SRP. Although we couldn’t make the event, we were told the kids LOVED them!

Down To Earth Festival in Memphis

We were honored to be a part of the Earth Day festivities at Shelby Farms Park. Our friends at Evergreen Packaging repurposed hundreds of cartons into Box Play for Kids Cows, Piggys, Blue Trains, Fire Trucks and School Buses. We were sad to miss this fun event…if only we could be in three places at one time. Choose cartons!

Happy Easter, Everybunny!

We partnered up with Bashas’ Supermarkets, our hometown grocer, for the 4th Annual Easter Festival at The Wigwam Resort hosted by Hickman’s Family Farms.  We created custom bunny ear stickers that repurposed hundreds of recycled toilet paper rolls. The ears were a huge hit!

Reimagine Phoenix Press Conference

Today, Mayor Greg Stanton announced a new citywide sustainability initiative, Reimagine Phoenix, to reduce the amount of trash sent to city landfills by 40 percent by the year 2020. Otherwise known as 40/20.

This goal will be reached by:

• encouraging sustainable practices such as recycling and composting
• partnering with key community and business leaders
• increasing education and awareness to residents and businesses

The 5 R‘s to remember are: Reduce, Reuse, Reycle, Reconsider and Reimagine.

I had the privilege of meeting business leaders from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Bashas’, Republic Services, PetSmart, Keep Phoenix Beautiful and Phoenix Public Works. I am so very proud of our City and it’s commitment to sustainability. To find out more visit.

Sustainability Solutions Festival: It’s Time To Find A Better Way

What is sustainability? “It means different things to different people. But it affects us all – how we treat one another, our planet and our future. Sustainability is the greatest opportunity we have today to ensure we have our best possible future.”

We are so honored to be a part of the first-ever ASU Sustainability Solutions Festival held February 17-22, 2014. This fun, full-day event focused on educating, entertaining and inspiring kids and parents about sustainability was held at Arizona Science Center. How can we all reduce, reuse, recycle and innovate for a better tomorrow?

We created a custom eco-friendly binocular sticker for the event and had hundreds and hundreds of recycled toilet paper rolls on hand to upcycle and re-purpose into interactive, simple toys with hundreds of kids. I brought along my enthusiastic little helper so it made the day even more special.

Bravo Children at Children’s Museum of Phoenix

We partnered with our friends at Bravo Children, a Spanish immersion program for babies, toddlers and young school-age children, for their latest workshop held at Children’s Museum of Phoenix. The class theme was all about recycling so it was a perfect fit for our DIY craft kids stickers. The class was taught and conducted in Spanish – an immersion environment is the best way to rapidly and naturally become fluent in a new language. Playful, creative activities help children make meaningful and lasting connections to words. We sang color and number songs, pretended to fly like airplanes to Mexico and played with the interactive toys made with our school bus, horn, camera, piano and record player stickers. At the end of the class all the kids made bracelets by upcycling empty toilet paper rolls with our pink and green superstar bracelet stickers. It was such a treat to be a part of a fun, learning activity for kids. Bravo!BPFK_Bravo_Children_web
