Bee Mine Kindergarten Craft

Today we’re putting together an adorable classroom craft the kindergarteners are gonna LOVE to do for their Valentine’s Day party.

Supplies you’ll need:
Clean empty milk cartons, black pipe cleaners, red construction paper, and our Bee stickers.

1. Collect empty milk carton containers from the cafeteria. Be sure to rinse out thoroughly and let dry completely.

Bee-Supplies-web2. Have each child trace his/her hand on red construction paper and cut out. This will make each bee custom and personalized.

group-of-bees-web3. Apply all four Bee stickers (front, back and two sides). Just crack and peel.

4-finished-bees-web4. Punch a hole at the top of the milk carton and thread black pipe cleaner through. Twist once at the base and then twist the ends of the antennas.

5. Then tape or glue the cut hand prints to make the wings.

6. Now it’s time to reward the busy little bees with a LOVE cookie.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Party

It’s time to celebrate National Piano Month with our very own Piano stickers (which also happen to be one of our most popular styles).

As we were prepping for the photo shoot, our 5-year-old had the best idea…”Why not paint the egg cartons black so they look like real pianos, Mommy?” Brilliant!  So the first thing we did was paint 10 recycled egg cartons black, then we applied our Piano stickers. Wow, what a difference…our pianos really popped!Box Play for Kids Piano PartyWe printed 10 copies of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on aged paper then rolled up each music sheet and tied them with a gold string. We found wooden stars at the craft store and painted them a metallic gold. And added some colorful, festive balloons to match the music notes.

Box Play for Kids Piano PartyBox Play for Kids Piano PartyWe then created Mozart face masks. We assumed Mozart was the composer of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. But after a little bit of research, discovered he did not actually compose the famous tune. It’s an old French melody titled “Ah! Vous Dirai-Je, Maman” (“Shall I tell you, Mother?”) However, at age 25, Mozart did compose a set of 12 improvisations on “Ah! Vous Dirai-Je, Maman.” The kids loved the masks so we kept them in the mix anyway.

As always, it’s not a party without great (classical) music and yummy treats. We continued with the black and white theme and had our local bakery make these star cookies.

Now Boarding: Aviation Themed Kids Party

National Aviation Day is a week away, so we put together these aviation party ideas to guarantee “frequent flier smiles”.

The Decór
We simplified our center table decór by limiting our color palette to red, white and blue pulled from our Airplane stickers. Instead of a traditional table, we used our vintage trunk to give the party a cool retro vibe. The globe gives you a dominant blue, while the adorable miniature stacked suitcases give you a bold pop of red.

Party Activities
It’s always a great idea to have a few fun party activities to keep the kids busy and entertained. Why not encourage their sense of adventure and creativity by repurposing toilet paper rolls into DIY airplanes. (Be sure adults are around during the craft to assist the kids with creating two slits for the popsicle stick.) And for more fun, we picked up some blank passport books and customized them for the party – rubber stamps and all!

Yummy Treats
The red & white straws and our sky blue plates are by Susty Party. They’re colorful and compostable. We added blue star stickers to the straws to tie into our theme. Sip in style!

After a day of activities, the kids will get a kick out of these crafty airplane treats. (As if kids needed one more reason to love an ice cream sandwich.) These were a huge hit at our home – 5 year old approved! You’ll love it because they’re inexpensive and easy peasy.BPFK Airplane Ice Cream Sandwich

A Home Run Birthday Party

Baseball season is finally here and the weather is perfect for an outdoor celebration. We put together this sporty party featuring our Baseball Bat eco-friendly, recycling activity stickers. BPFK_Baseball Party_11 This large sign was designed and then printed at our local print shop and mounted on foam core. It served as our centerpiece. BPFK_Baseball Party_2 We placed lots of peanuts in a clear bowl for decoration and snacks. And had a vintage tin bucket filled with Cracker Jacks. Wiffle balls are way more kid-friendly than the real thing (more laughing, less crying). And, we served up hot dogs for some major league nosh.

For our party activity, we took pics of the kids and assembled DIY Baseball cards. We got lots of goofy faces…we’re big fans of silliness!

Saddle Up! It’s Time for a Kickin’ Cowboy Party.

Howdy! Our little friend Dominic is turning 4 and we’ve put together ideas for his cowboy themed birthday party.

We always like to create a focal point for our table design and build out. Our overall color palette for the party is blue and red. We used three of our Red Barn stickers that repurpose cereal boxes. We made horse cupcake toppers and placed them in the foreground to create a corral. I’m madly in love with this Mexican blanket on the diagonally – so vibrant and festive!

Each guest receives this customized party favor – cowboy hat, our Cow sticker wrapped in a blue bandana and a sheriff star. Yeehaw!

BPFK Cowboy Party Favors

We always like to have at least one simple DIY craft activity for the kids and parents. This time, we made cowboy mustaches using popsicle sticks and black construction paper.

We made cowboy beans and corn on the cob for some yummy grub.

Ghoulish Girly-Girl Party

Pink and black is the new orange and black! This year, we put together a unique take on your typical Halloween party theme – we combined scary and pretty. And boy girl, is it ever memorable.

BPFK Halloween Pink HousesWe started by creating a centerpiece for our table from a row of pretty Pink Haunted Houses made with our eco-friendly, recycling craft stickers. All you need are three empty milk cartons and our Pink House stickers to begin building your party table. We repurposed shimmery fabric to give the illusion of a foggy night. We purchased wooden black trees to create a creepy, yet idyllic tree-lined street. From our central theme, we pulled together other elements to make this an unforgettable Halloween.BPFK Halloween Party Place SettingEach guest is greeted with a personalized place setting. BPFK Pumpkin SandwichesWe made pumpkin-shaped PBJ sandwiches with celery tops. I bet even my little one would be open to trying celery now.

Halloween Pink Houses CakeIt wouldn’t be a celebration without a yummy cake. We picked up this beauty at Tammie Coe Cakes – a bakery up the street from our house.

BPFK Halloween CarrotsWe served up healthy orange snacks. (Sorry, no Cheetos at this party.)

BPFK Mummies Utensil HoldersAs always, at Box Play for Kids, we like to repurpose recyclables whenever possible. These adorable mummy napkin rings can be made with empty toilet paper rolls, wiggly eyes, some gauze and a dab of glue.

BPFK Pink Spider StrawsWe found pink and white polka dot paper straws and embellished them with miniature spiders. We also found a pretty pink and silver ribbon to trim the tops of the black paper cups. It’s all in the details!

A Sea of Fun

Our favorite twins are turning 1! Their parents decided on an Under The Sea party theme and asked if we would put together some goody bags for their little guests. We were all over it!!!

BPFK Under The Sea Party 2013

We also provided some additional fun party ideas they could implement since they are back East and we are in Arizona.

First off, we started with a fun centerpiece using a large rope wrapped hurricane candle holder from Cost Plus World Market. We placed baby blue tissue paper to create a water effect and placed our orange octopus in the center for a burst of color.

We then stuffed each goody bag with our Box Play for Kids eco-friendly shark and turtle stickers – the perfect party favors. To personalize the bags, we had Asher and Jack (with the help of mom and dad of course) each create a hand print and together the two hand prints made one cute DIY crab that was printed on label stock and applied to the bags.

We customized the white paper ice cream cups by stamping them with anchors to go along with the maritime theme.

Aren’t the boys ADORABLE in their matching straw hats? Perfect attire. The cuteness overload makes me (almost) want to have another baby.

Asher and Jack, we wish you nothing but love, happiness and good health. You are two very lucky boys because your parents ROCK!!!

Football Season. Stick On. Kickoff!

It’s that time of year again when my husband goes into high gear football mode. I still don’t get it but what’s a girl to do? I say…if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! We put together a sporty tailgate party fit for a team of fun-loving kiddos (and their parents).

BPFK Football Tailgate Wide PlayFirst, what’s a tailgate party without a tailgate? We created a DIY pennant using felt and twine. We threw in a cooler full of ice water, fresh fruit for healthy snacking…

BPFK Bucket of Footballsand a bucket of DIY footballs made with empty toilet paper rolls and our very own Football stickers. We stuffed them with gold football t-shirts. The combo makes the perfect party favor and party activity.

BPFK Boy Football_2013Here’s our adorable 2 1/2 year old athlete in training wearing his new t-shirt.
