Recycled Cardboard Nest

Spring is here and we’re getting in the spirit with this easy peasy cardboard craft that serves as the perfect coffee table piece. All you need is an empty cardboard box, some hot glue, and scissors (or strong hands), and you have everything you need to make this cute little birdy nest. It’s amazing how you can repurpose a simple box into something unique.

Step 1: Start by cutting (or tearing) your box into strips and pieces. You could even use an empty cereal box. The little ones will love tearing things apart and making a mess.

Step 2: Once you have a hefty pile of cardboard scraps, it’s time to start gluing all the pieces into a nest shape. {Note: This step is for adults only since hot glue can be dangerous.} No need to be to perfect but just try to leave an opening in the center if you want to fill your nest.

Step 3: Get creative! Fill your nest with candy, flowers, dyed eggs…anything! I lined my nest with some parchment paper and filled with malted milk eggs.
